What a busy Spring it has been here this year as we prepare for Easter with lots of young animals. Usually we have lambs, lambs and more lambs! This year we have all of those but also some young calves and a puppy, called FLOSS, too! So lots to keep us out of mischief.
The puppy has everyone wrapped around her little paws as she is such a cutie and the calves are quite nice too. The lambs are always lovely. There is nothing nicer than watching them race around the field in a mad gambol or experiencing the miracle of one being born!
How lucky we are to live here!

A great evenings entertainment for all the family at Thornbury Village fete in Devon.
The Dog show was well attended as always. A barbeque fed all the happy punters. Childrens races and bouncy castle and a few stalls added to the merriment. The usual game of rounder,s where all the village took part concluded the evening. The little amount of rain didn’t dampen spirits!
Holsworthy revealed the identity of their Pretty Maid for 2013 today. The Pretty maid, the Mayor and Portreeve among others, then proceeded to open Rowland’s Funfair. The sun made a welcome appearance as temperatures soared. The market stalls were busy and looked bright and cheerful. Street entertainment included The Stannary Jazz Men and a Clown on stilts! Events continue all week culminating with

Met up with a few North Devon Farm ladies for a delicious lunch overlooking the beach at Putsborough, North Devon. We don’t often get to do this so it was nice to don the hat and shades and pretend that we, were on holiday, like our guests on our farm B&B’s or self catering cottages. The weather was fantastic and looks to be set fair for a day or two!
This was the view over Putsborough as we ate our lunch today

Wow, mum can I take it home!
A trip to the Vintage Rally, near Holsworthy at the weekend proved a winner for farming mad little boy. He particularly liked this one with the giant wheels front and back but he did fancy some of the classic cars too.
Cows are looking to join us on a cider and pasty walk!
Did the cows drink too much cider, at the cider and pasty walk through their farm this weekend? I hope not. it would make the milk taste odd, I think. The weather held fair and around fifty people took to the fields and streams for a stroll around local farm to raise money for the church in Thornbury, near Holsworthy. Children had great fun, lot’s of cider and pasties consumed by the parents and grandparents. A really great day out.
