Ladies who lunch looking out over the golden sands of Putsborough, North Devon

Met up with a few North Devon Farm ladies for a delicious lunch overlooking the beach at Putsborough, North Devon. We don’t often get to do this so it was nice to don the hat and shades and pretend that we, were on holiday, like our guests on our farm B&B’s or self catering cottages. The weather was fantastic and looks to be set fair for a day or two!

Spotted on Sunday stroll at church Cider and Pasty walk

Cider and Pasty walk takes place next door to Forda Farm B&B near Bude and Holsworthy

Cows are looking to join us on a cider and pasty walk!

Did the cows drink too much cider, at the cider and pasty walk through their farm this weekend? I hope not. it would make the milk taste odd, I think. The weather held fair and around fifty people took to the fields and streams for a stroll around local farm to raise money for the church in Thornbury, near Holsworthy. Children had great fun, lot’s of cider and pasties consumed by the parents and grandparents. A really great day out.

Silage safely wrapped

Finally after dodging showers, the baler paid us a visit and wrapped the silage for us. Now we have to safely gather it in for the winter. This will mean that when our sheep and cows come into the buildings, for their winter bed and breakfast, they will have delicious home produced food too.
